David J. Hamilton, founder of STRIVE4U, has a passion for college admission advising. In addition to helping students find the best fit for a postsecondary institution, he specializes in helping student-athletes, first-generation students, and students interested in studying in the United Kingdom.He received a BA from Allegheny College and an MA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and has earned the CEP (Certified Educational Planner) designation. In regards to the latter credential, he was the first CEP to be located in southern Maryland and one of twelve in the entire state. He is an active member of the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC), Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Advising, and the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA).
Prior to becoming a college advisor at a local high school, Dave worked over ten years in college admissions at a major university. An active presenter at the regional and national level, he is well versed on current issues and future trends affecting the college search process for students and parents.
